Were the animals who were out on the streets left to die? Were there animals still left in houses to die? Do you think the law in Horrorleans started shooting as soon as the animal lovers pulled out for home?

It was me, Stephanie, in NYC who suggested Oprah...can you please help me get this info to Pasado's Haven (they have the $25,000 reward for the dog shootings, Eric of Ericsdogblog.com, and Jane Garrison?) If we can get any of these guys interested or if they can connect with someone that is interested, it will make a difference!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR POST,

I want to put a stop to an internet rumor regarding the St. Bernard High School animals pictured in photo #12 above.

"dogs in picture #12 that were not removed that day by Oregon Humane Society were starved to death/shot. This photo was taken at St. Bernard HS, one of the schools that is part of the dog shooting case that is currently being investigated by the Louisiana Attorney General."

On the day the Oregon Humane Society rescue team was at St. Bernard High School, there were approximately 9 animals (both dogs and cats) who were ALREADY DEAD. The dead animals were either cats that had been left in their crates or dogs that had been left tied up and were unable to scavenge for themselves. Read this for yourself at Oregon Humane's "Rescue Journal" (at www.oregonhumane.org).

Oregon Humane then requested that LASPCA rescue the live animals because the did not have sufficient transport capacity for all the live animals and because it was nearing curfew. According to the LASPCA, the live animals were rescued from St. Bernard High School the following day.

I believe the only reason St. Bernard High School has been included in the list of school shootings is because people who had been at the other schools where shootings occurred THEN went to the high school... and because they had seen shootings at other schools, they assumed the dead animals at the high school had also been shot.

Please, let's stop the internet rumor about St. Bernard High School until the investigation is complete and the full facts are released. At this point, I believe all the live animals that were still in the high school when the Oregon Humane Society rescue team was there were rescued (excluding any that escaped to the outdoors, as you indicate... they may have left the school on their own before rescuers returned the following day(s)).

I am a graphic designer, I am working on a project to design a disaster reponse trailer for a not for profit organiziation. I was wanting to use some animal pictures from Katrina. I would like to give this idea to my client and hopefully they will like this idea. Is there a photographer that would be willing to let me use a picture? Thanks so much!
