In some of these pictures, you can just see the relief in these animals. How they lean into the rescuers, the affection they show being SO happy to see someone again after so long of being left alone. Thank you for sharing these. They bring tears to my eyes and make me wish I could be there to help.

Hi jules !

Yah, SOME of the pictures are heartwarming, SOME are heartwrenching, and A LOT are BOTH.
Powerful thing - a photograph.

Thanks for commenting!

What wonderful pictures - these show why we all did what we did to help with rescue efforts, and why this disaster has touched so many of us.

After a really cruddy day, this makes me remember why we were down there, and the little hearts we were able to help.

You know what I wish though? I wish we lived in a society where we would fight tooth and nail for these animals everywhere, every day. There are just too many animals that get put down every day because no one rescues them. I wish this tragedy could bring that to light too...because in the end that will happen to some of these Katrina victims and it makes me so saddened. It just isn't fair...

Sorry, I'm in my own world of words tonight, but THANK YOU for giving me this great pick me up.

Keep it up.
