that's well beyond sad. I'll be honest. I was sick of people talking about the disaster and how awful it was. And it makes me even angrier to know that there's another minority (the animals) that's suffering just as much, with NO VOICE!!! What celebrity will speak for them and say 'send help, George Bush doesn't care about them.' Nobody. If I didn't have -$20 in my bank account, I'd give what I had. But for now, all I can offer is my hope and my concern.

You are absolutely right about the abandoned animals being the other minority. I realize it is not the PC thing to say, but these animals were in horrible shape long before Katrina hit. It frustrates those in animal rescue that this point is not being made, at the risk of offending.

Offending??? Offending whom? The people who abandoned their animals to hell? The people who did not spay/neuter their animals? The people who left their animals tied, chained, crated and got themselves to safety? They deserve more than just being offended.
